The Complete Fall Fashion Guide

Fall is approaching (except in Texas, where it's still 90 degrees), and that means fall fashion! The new crop of trends is bestowed upon us- elegant coats, chunky knits, flat boots, and collegiate-chic are all fabulous trends, but there are so many more that will most definitely be shown here. These trends are in no particular order (they are going to be REALLY random). Enjoy.

Plaid:

A few seasons ago, plaid was more grunge, but now it is polished and stylish. Try it on a minidress with tights and a cardigan or an elegant jacket.

Charlotte Ronson puts her own spin on clothes, like this bib at the top. The colors are sophisticated and make the plaid look far from country girl. This would look great with black tights and slouchy boots.

I love this Generra Pocket Front Dress, especially the wrinkled-on-purpose material. This dress is so chic and effortless. Love it!

Jeans for Fall:

Jeans for fall are much more elegant- clean silhouettes, no rips or tears. Grey denim and wide leg jeans are great for fall

These Anlo Roth Wide Leg Trouser jeans are so sophisticated and sleek. These would look great with a long fitted cardigan in a bright color.

Here are some great Cheap Monday skinny jeans, with the grey denim trend involved. Grey denim is best pulled off with a monochrome outfit, but to keep it interesting, play with different shades of grey in your outfit.

Another great pair of grey jeans- the Paige Blue Heights Skinny Jean from Scoop. I love Paige jeans because they feel so broken-in and comfy, like you've had them for decades.

The "colored" jean trend is also fabulous for fall. I put quotations around colored because they aren't exactly colored, but you can definitely tell they aren't the regular denim color. I love these Cheap Monday 0100118 jeans- they look so comfortable.

William Rast has really been standing out to me lately for stylish, on-trend jeans. Their jeans always look so polished and neat, and so versatile. These could easily be a pair of casual school jeans or some to "dress up" with.

Sweater Dresses:

Sweater dresses are absolutely essential for fall- they are stylish, comfortable, and keep you warm. They are also great layering pieces.

This Alice + Olivia Cashmere Cowl Dress looks so elegant, I love the cowl neck. The ribbed cashmere adds a casual touch.

When fall comes around, don't ever feel you have to be limited to blacks and greys. Color is a fabulous way to make your wardrobe feel so much more exciting. This Ella Moss Stevie Knot Babydoll Dress from Intermix is adorable!

I love the ivory color on this Ella Moss Whistler Cutout Layered Sweater Dress. The long sleeves are perfectly balanced with the short skirt, and the ruching is so cute. Definitely pair this with tights and boots=fabulous.

This Jamison Long Sleeve Pocket Tunic Dress is so simple and elegant, and can easily be jazzed up with accessories or a few layering pieces.

Here's another simple dress from J.Crew. This would pair perfectly with a bright belt, which are also HOT this season. Belt anything and everything- cardigans, dresses, jeans, pants. Really. Everything.

This T-Bags Knit Dress has a fantastic mod feel to it, especially with the purple and black colorblocking.

Jackets/Coats:

Don't you just hate it when you can never find a decent winter coat that is even remotely stylish? Do you want to get warm and still be with the trends? Look no further. Wow, I just sounded like some cheesy commercial.

This Ben Sherman Sally Coat from Urban Outfitters is great with a pair of dark jeans to add a bit of elegance to them. I love this coat- it's so pretty, especially the color and the cowl neck.

The classic peacoat will never go out of style, and this bright red J.Crew one is perfection. This would also look great with dark, wide leg trouser jeans.

How gorgeous is this Marc by Marc coat? I mean, just look at the color. And the buttons just perfectly placed. AHHHH I WANT IT.

The Lux Nonpariel Jacket is so...cool, I'm really not sure what about it.

Sweater coats are a fabulous trend this fall, and I love this Kimchi & Blue one from Urban Outfitters. They have a charcoal color, but this picture was better.

The leather jacket is huge in Hollywood and the fashion world, and this cropped GoldSign Leather Bomber is FAB-U-LOUS.

This Vince leather jacket is also amazing. I love the funnel neck, it's a really interesting touch.

Houndstooth is a great, classic pattern, and on this Alice + Olivia jacket, it's so sophisticated.

Not exactly a winter coat, but it is a jacket, and an amazing blazer at that. Unbuttoned and left relaxed, this looks casual but still really cool over a pair of jeans.

This Lux North Country Coat is so elegant, and the combination that the model is wearing of skinny jeans and boots, is so cute.

Fall Shoes:

Metallics are still a huge trend, as well as Mary Janes, flat boots, and ankle boots.

These Anna Sui Metallic Leather Biker Boots are so fabulous, I can't find the words to describe them. I love the olive-green-gold-brownish color, the buckles, and the feminine metallic color contrasting with the biker boots. AMAZING.

I am in love with these Charlotte Ronson Yulia Suede Slouchy Pirate Boots. These would look great with ribbed tights, a cute mini, and a fitted sweater.

Two of fall's most prominent shoe trends- metallics and Mary Janes- in one.

Anything Marc Jacobs touches is just fantastic, especially these suede Mary Janes. These are soooo cute.

And here's a patent leather version in black and white. Equally as cute.

These KORS Michael Kors metallic ankle strap flats are adorable- I love the pointed toe and the detail on the toe. Ankle straps are one of my favorite trends for fall.

These stylish, elegant Pedro Garcia Satin Ballet Flats are juxtaposed by the frayed edge. These are such a beautiful color, too.

Instead of the typical bow or buckle on the toe, I love this beading, it's a lot different from everything else I see usually. These adorable flats are from Scoop.

These Scorah Pattullo ankle boots are so cute, especially with some grey ribbed tights like these Missoni ones from Net-a-Porter.

Definitely worth the extra splurge.

Accessories:

Knits are big for fall accessories, like in knit hats & scarves. Worldly-like colorful scarves inspired by Balenciaga's fall collection are great accessories, as well as tights and belts.

I am so into these knit caps lately, they're a perfect topper for a fall/winter outfit. Eugenia Kim makes great ones at ShopBop.

^A Free People knit cap^

I am obsessed with these colorful J.Crew argyle socks- I cannot wait to buy them and put them over tights in the fall. These also look great peeking out of boots.

This red, white, and blue scarf from J.Crew perfectly fits into the "collegiate-chic" trend.

Balenciaga-inspired scarves are popping up everywhere, and I love this one from Topshop, with the earth tones and fall colors.

Another great scarf in a gorgeous green color, from Urban Outfitters. This adds a great pop of color to any outfit.

Belts are everywhere right now, like bright colored skinny belts. This one from Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent is a fabulous turquoise color and is so pretty!

This lavender belt from Urban Outfitters is also great.

Oh my goodness...extremely long post. That took so long.
