i would go out tonight, but i haven't got a stitch to wear

How about some more catch-up, after what appears to be my longest hiatus in this blog's history? Essentially, I can't remember anything after these shoes came into my life. They melted my brain into a beautiful, glittery puddle and nothing else matters. After the sequin blazer, I was convinced I couldn't own anything sparklier. I shouldn't speak so soon. But since January, I have turned 16 and this blog has turned 4. 4 years old. Damn. Also, denim+denim is still a winner in my book.

Also, I have the best friends ever who do awesome things for my birthday.

Primary colors are probably my favorite kinds of colors. There's just something about them...and usually when I wear one, I tend to wear the other two at the same time. What we have here is a prime example. Frankly, it's too late for me to think of any amusing anecdotes, so I will leave you with the fact that I ate a plate of chicken enchiladas about 2 hours ago but I'm still feeling the urge to break into the box of Samoas in the kitchen (I refuse to call Girl Scout cookies by their new names, it's revolting and vulgar).

on the charms of our idle dreary days

So in the last two months, I...
1. saw Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1 at last (four times)
2. performed, dressed in full Xeno Lovegood attire, with my Harry Potter coterie in front of the theater as we waited for the midnight showing
3. attended a murder mystery party where I played a Vegas lounge pianist named Paul Piano
4. watched fireworks (in the FLESH!) for New Year's...for the first time, I think.
5. drank enough sparkling cider to disintegrate my teeth
6. cut down a tree with my cousin and sister and traveled around a tiny Texas town to find ornaments and lights on Christmas Day so we could have a Christmas tree
7. had strep throat and spent two days screaming in pain and downing giant pink horse pills (which I'm still finishing)
8. bought 3 marvelous new pairs of shoes for under $30
9. became dangerously addicted to Friday Night Lights
10. despite being Jewish, wore reindeer antlers with a Santa hat about half of the month of December
11. conversed with amusing foreign relatives at Thanksgiving
12. watched reactions of my entire school as they walked past the mechanical laughing stuffed monkey that we placed outside of our advisory...some nearly fainted thinking it was an actual chinchilla or a rabbit or something (that was me)
13. became completely sick of the cold. It was nice for about a week, MAYBE.

Lately though, I've been dressing completely weather-inappropriately as per usual. I literally do not own any suitable winter clothes and I think the last time I wore an actual coat was maybe the age of eleven. I just keep layering cardigan over cardigan and hoping for the best. This outfit made me feel like a really inappropriately dressed businesswoman.

all the girls played mental games and all the guys were dressed the same

It's certainly been a while since I've been acquainted with my good friend The Obnoxious Shoulder-Padded Turquoise Blazer. It is and has always been friendly and loyal to me, but I would like very much to expand upon my fall/winter jacket collection; it has been heavily lacking sufficient shoulder pads and sequins lately. You can just call me 15 year old Suze Orman, I love me some weird jackets.

The highlight of my entire week would be best summed up in a small cyber-performance. I wasn't quite sure who I should tell, so I decided the entirety of the Internet would suffice.

Girl enters restaurant, picks up menu. She sees nothing except for two single words- Nutella mousse. Nothing else matters in the world. She must have it. And eventually, she does. She doesn't even know what else was in it besides whipped Nutella and a delightful caramel bottom, but OH MY GOD. It is the most magical meal to grace her life as of yet.

fate, my friend, you say the strangest things

I enjoy this color combination. I like red and white and a little black...and I can actually wear black now! Because it's SEVENTY-FOUR DEGREES! I'm aware I talk about weather too much, I'm also aware I kind of go on a cycle- weather, Harry Potter, I-have-nothing-to-write, weather, Harry Potter, etc, etc, etc. God, I make myself cringe.

I cannot think of words to fill this box, so I revert to my old tactic of likes and dislikes. Likes: baking, Bellatrix Lestrange, the word "betwixt", Post-it notes, cheesecake, drawings of feathers, Rupert Grint, cream soda, floral print, and anything that comes out of Albus Dumbledore's mouth. Dislikes: country music, rap music, loud music, bananas, Cho Chang, Six Flags, cigarettes, corn off the cob (not sure what it is, I quite like it on the cob), cats, flip-flops, and Cormac McLaggen and his agility.

a million and one thousand things

My month-long hiatus was not really intentional. I tried to think of a new blog name for about 2 weeks straight, then that endeavor fizzled out (for now. I'm still driving myself insane trying to think of one), and then I formed the idea, purely excusing my laziness, that I couldn't post until I found a new name. I didn't find a name for a month, school started and began to beat me up, and here I am! But really though, once I get the most magnificent new blog name, I'm planning on expanding my content a little bit so I can post more. If I have any more readers left, I am asking for any suggestions for names, or even amusing words, which I've been collecting in a tiny notebook for a month now.

I talk so much.
